Make
a list of secured and unsecured debt. Secured debt has security interest,
such as car loans, house loans, and student loans. Unsecured debt includes
credit card debt and certain personal loans. |
Determine
the value of your properties and list everything of value. Personal
property is valued at yard sale value rather than replacement value. While
you should not overvalue your property, try not to undervalue either. |
Keep
copies of all your immigration documents and send using certified mail
with a return receipt. The USCIS receives a large number of applications
each year and is known to lose track of paperwork. |
Plan
for delays. The USCIS is often extremely backlogged. If you need to renew
your US work permit or status, submit your application far in advance
to avoid trouble. |
Arrive
promptly for any appointments with the USCIS, US embassy, or US immigration
court. Arriving late can result in months of delays. Not appearing at
all can result in deportation. |

In
an event of an accident, first seek medical attention to avoid sustained
injury. Take photographs of all your wounds and injuries, the scene of
accident, and any property damage as soon as possible. |
Report
the accident to your insurance company and the at-fault party's insurance
company. Speak with your lawyer before providing a statement
to both insurance companies. |
When
claiming damages and seeking compensation, include all expenses such as
cost of medication treatment, lost of wages or salaries, loss of lifestyle,
mental pressure, and legal cost. |

Review
your ticket for errors. You may be acquitted if your ticket is inadmissible
in court for an incorrect license plate number or driver's license number,
or a missing violation number. |
If
you are pulled over for a traffic violation, be as courteous and friendly
as possible while avoid admitting guilt. There is a chance the officer
will let you go with a warning. |
