2012 IMMIGRATION POLICY: "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" On June 15th of 2012, the Department of Homeland Security under the Obama administration formally announced that it will offer deferred action to "DREAMers," individuals who would have qualified for the DREAM Act if it had passed into law.
